Who We Serve

Our Story
Our founder started TeckED in 2016 after:
- 20 years as a discretionary grant director,
- 3 years as a U.S. Department of Education Subject Matter Expert (SME),
- earning a doctorate in Education, and
- becoming a certified DACUM (Designing A Curriculum) expert. That journey highlighted a big gap: organizations need customized curricula, independent evaluations, and professional learning communities that are well‑moderated and free from inappropriate online behavior. TeckED was built to close that gap—with experience, with heart, and with a sense of humor.
But TeckED isn’t a one‑human show. We’re powered by a team that brings brainpower, real‑world experience, and just the right amount of nerdy excitement:
- Our IT Director brings 10+ years of technology leadership in a clinical environment, keeping systems secure, stable, and smoother than a perfectly optimized database. If it plugs in, pings, or needs protection, they’ve handled it.
- Our Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) brings 20 years of experience supporting learners, educators, and communities through trauma‑informed practices, mental‑health‑aware design, and social‑emotional strategies. Thanks to this expertise, our learning environments aren’t just effective — they’re compassionate, culturally responsive, and built to support the whole human.
- We also partner with a host of independent contractors, including curriculum designers, evaluators, IT specialists, instructional designers, accessibility experts, and data analysts. Think of them as our on‑call superhero squad: they appear exactly when a project needs their specialized powers.
Together, this diverse team ensures TeckED delivers solutions that are strategic, empathetic, technically strong, and tailored to real‑world needs.
Community Standards (a.k.a. “How We Keep It Awesome”)
We’re all in this together to create a welcoming environment. Treat everyone with respect. Our terms of use keep the space constructive so learning can shine. Highlights:
- Stay on topic. Keep questions and comments related to TeckED. Off‑topic posts may be removed. Repeat derailments may result in removal from the group.
- Give more than you take. Self‑promotion, spam, and irrelevant links aren’t allowed and may result in a ban. (We like ham, not spam.)
- Be transparent. If you recommend a product or service that could benefit you financially, say so explicitly. Lack of disclosure may limit posting privileges.
- No job/gig/dev requests. Please visit the TeckED Experts page for talent and engagement needs.
- No direct assistance in comments or DMs. Keep help public, educational, and safe.
- No solicitation for work. This is a learning space, not a marketplace.
Our communities are actively monitored to support healthy dialogue and prohibit inappropriate behavior—because great learning needs a great environment.
Our B Corp Values (How We Show Up)
While we aren’t speaking for B Lab, we align our practices with the spirit of the B Corp movement—using business as a force for good and balancing profit with purpose. In practice, that looks like:
- Governance with Purpose – Stakeholder‑minded decisions, ethical conduct, and transparent policies.
- Workers First – Fair pay, growth opportunities, wellness, and a culture where feedback isn’t scary.
- Community Impact – Local partnerships, inclusive practices, and supplier choices that strengthen communities.
- Environmental Stewardship – Reduce, reuse, rethink. We prefer our carbon light and our planet happy.
- Customer Benefit – Products and services designed to improve learning outcomes and safeguard privacy.
- Transparency & Accountability – Clear metrics, honest reporting, and continuous improvement.
In short: people, planet, and performance—measured, managed, and improved over time.
Why TeckED?
- Innovation with Purpose – Not shiny for shiny’s sake; solutions that move the learning needle.
- People‑Centered Design – Built for real humans (yes, even on a Monday).
